He ran a hand through his hair, seeming very nervous and agitated.

C: What about her?

Camellia asked, her voice soft and soothing. To try and calm him, she put the back of her fingers softly against his neck.

He blinked, his long eyelashes giving him a bambi-esque confused look.

A: She's... She was asking questions, she...

C: Anthony, calm yourself.

She said, hushed, clasping her hands at the back of his neck.

C: What did she say?

A: She was asking about you. I tried, I told her we have to go, but she...

Anthony looked down at his feet.

A: She needed a reason so I told her... And now she's...

C: What? What is he doing?

She made him look her in the eye.

Anthony looked at her, trying to word this without going off on a tangent.

A: She's decided to come in as a spy.

He whispered.

Camellia's eyes widened.

C: What?

Anthony whined.

A: I know!

He felt guilt settling in his gut.

A: I warned her but she was adamant and I know my place. She insisted on it.

C: Oh... oh this is awful, she shall be caught, and- and executed!

A: I know!

He repeated, frustrated at himself. Why hadn't he stopped her?

A: And she says she will be here tonight!

C: Tonight? No, oh, no!

Camellia fretted, resting her forehead against his shoulder and closing her eyes.

Anthony looked at her, unsure of how to comfort her. He placed a clumsy hand on her back.

A: Will she definitely be caught?

C: Almost certainly, she will find few friends.

She lifted her head and drew away from Anthony, pacing.

C: She knows nothing of our customs or our people - I can help her as much as I can but it may not be enough...

Returning to Anthony's side, she set her mouth in a straight line and hardened her eyed, though they still held the elfin wildness that humans found so alluring.

C: If she still insists on coming, have her meet me here at sundown.

Camellia spoke with the gravitas that comes will royal blood, used to commanding people.

C: I will have clothes and things, I'll speak with her. I will try and make her understand.

Anthony took her hand in both of his.

A: You will be doing us great service.

Camellia put her other hand over his, keeping her gaze steadily fused with his.

C: It has to be done. She must be protected.

She was wise for her years.

He felt as though he was talking to a real forest sprite now, as he saw the expanse of nature and all its wisdom shining from her eyes, and heard the whispers of the trees in her voice.

A: Thank you.

C: Don't thank me.

Her every feature curved into a smile at his words.

C: I thank you for trying.

Anthony shook his head.

A: I have endangered everyone by telling her.

C: That wasn't your intention.

She took a shuffling step closer to him.

A: But it has happened.

C: But it wasn't your fault, really.

Camellia let her head hang.

C: It was mine, for getting stuck in the bushes. If we'd never met this wouldn't have happened.

A: I... I am glad we met.

He muttered.

C: ...As am I. But I don't know why. I shouldn't be glad, because it's caused so many complications, but...

Camellia looked at him through her lashes.

Anthony gulped, feeling his cheeks blush red.

A: Maybe... Maybe when this ends...
